Danny Mac's Pizza will be closing it's Shelby Street location
August 21, 2016
Danny Mac's Pizza @ Post #9 on Shelby Street regrets to inform you of the following:
In 2006, Danny Mac's Pizza opened it's first location in the Germantown area of Louisville Kentucky. It moved in 2010
to it's current location of 1567 South Shelby Street. inside the AMVETS Post #9 to help raise awareness of the veteran's post, to help it raise money needed to operate the non-profit organization and to help the surrounding community. Because of a recent, unforeseen state compliance situation involving a public restaurant (Danny Mac's Pizza) doing business inside a private club (AMVETS Post #9) and the costs associated with reconstructing the building to comply with the KY ABC licensing that the AMVETS Post carries, Danny Mac's Pizza will be shutting down it's business that has been located inside the AMVETS Post #9 on Shelby Street. The closing date will be Aug. 28th, 2016. We would like to stress, this was to no fault of the veteran's post or Danny Mac's Pizza.
Danny Mac's Pizza partnered up with an investment team in early April of 2016 to open a second location on the courtyard of The Mellwood Art Center at 1860 Mellwood Avenue. The team had hopes of making the modifications to have AMVETS Post #9 and Danny Mac's Pizza comply with KY ABC codes and had plans of upgrading the kitchen at the location but the total investment for the construction rose to a level that present funding would not handle and would have limited the use of the facility for both Danny Mac's Pizza and most importantly the ANVETS Post #9. Our customers have told us that our biggest challenge at Post 9 has been the shared location layout and atmosphere that is not typical of a pizza restaurant. Even with all of the changes, we would still be faced with that challenge and we feel that the only way to resolve the situation is for Danny Mac's Pizza to step away from the location and start looking for a new location. Hopes are to find a new location in the Germantown-Schnitzelburg area where Danny Mac's Pizza was proudly started and located, since 2006.
Danny Mac's Pizza is both saddened by this business move and very excited about the future. If anyone has any information on a location in the Germantown-Schnitzelburg area of Louisville Kentucky that has 600 square feet for a Carry-out/Delivery location or up to 1600 Square feet for a full-service dining room, carry-out and delivery restaurant, please feel free to contact Dan McMahon (Danny Mac) at firstname.lastname@example.org or at the Mellwood location (502)890-6331. The new Danny Mac's Pizza team has already purchased new ovens and equipment which was going to be used in the AMVETS location. All Danny Mac's Pizza needs is a new location. Other area locations will also be entertained until the right spot opens up in the Germantown-Schnitzelburg area.
Until a new location is found, please visit our newest Danny Mac's Pizza on the courtyard at the Mellwood Art Center location. We are excited about the quality of our food and the family friendly atmosphere that we have. We would love to see your face and we know you will enjoy the delicious food.
